The Equal Exchange Cooperative
Equal Exchange
The three founders of Equal Exchange came together with a shared vision in mind:  fairness to farmers, and a closer connection between farmers and consumers.  There is so much care and expertise from farmers that go into products, and in most supply chains, this is often overlooked.  Equal Exchange's fair trade products are taking a stance and creating a difference for farmers, economy, and the planet.

GRACE CHILDREN'S
HOSPITAL - Haiti
Goal of the Project:  To provide hospital and out-patient care for children and families with tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and respiratory infections and follow up with clinical healthcare for patients discharged from Grace Children’s Hospital and their families. Long-term, the project hopes to expand its reach to more families and to educate the community about healthcare and nutrition.
Bishop Craig Children's Village - Liberia

Goal of the Project:  To see the number of neglected children in the communities reduced, to help reduce illiteracy, and to reduce future crime rate in the country.

Red Bird Mission - Kentucky

From the website:  Their goal - building healthy, sustainable communities in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky.  The need remains critical in this isolated, rural distressed area.  Chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and rugged mountainous terrain provide obstacles to a fuller life for the residents of this area.  Red Bird Mission and Clinic strives to meet these needs through five program areas:  education, health, housing improvements, outreach and economic opportunity.

Roadside Pickup
in the summer of 1991, the Millington
United Methodist Church became part
of the "Adopt A Highway" program.  Our "highway" is M-15 from Birch Run Road
north to Murphy Lake Road.  Three
Saturdays each year, in April, July and September, members and friends gather
to do our part to keep our community
looking good.  You are invited to be a
part of this outreach.  Look on the
EVENTS page to find the date of the next pickup.  Don't forget to watch the safety video below before you show up to help.
